Labels can be pre-printed off-line or printed online, and warehouse operator will insert only the missing information during goods receipt.

Navigation for picking instruction will be offered according to warehousing strategy (e.g. FIFO). In the system can be defined where and by whom navigation instruction (e.g. FIFO) can be violated. System has different levels of violations (= hard error, soft error with violation logging) depending on user permitions or process setting. This returned handling unit will be afterwards offered for dispensing first in the navigation.
Backflush consumption
Automatic consumption initiated by another warehouse movement. Components and their quantity are defined in Bill of Material or Packaging rule.
Transfer between storage locations, plants …
System offers variants:
- Just transaction (scanning on target place)
- Transfer storage location (scanning loading in source place + scanning in target place)
- Trasnport (scanning loading in source place + scanning in target place with ref. to transport list). Automatic printing and internal ASN included.
In addition to standard transactions, the system also offers automatic transfer movements, eg. for packaging.
E-KANBAN inhouse JIT supply
Supply tasks can be managed on the E-KANBAN base with appropriate advanced functions. For example E-KANBAN request is closed by standard warehouse transaction without any manual action on the tablet…
Warehousing Strategy
The warehousing strategy can be defined at different organizational levels – system, plant / locality, warehouse / storage location, or material master record. Definitions can be mixed and you can create model. Thanks to this system can offer different navigation at different places for the same material. Typically the same material is at un/loading, buffer or inspection zones storing in a stacks and in central warehouse is storing on shelves.
Depending on strategy settings might be following of storage bin proposal mandatory or not.
Storage / Putaway to Storage Bin
Warehouse operator is navigated to storage bin and its alternatives according to dedicated places, similar material types, similar packaging characteristics, stacking parameters, picking times etc. If dedicated free capacitity is missing, can be used buffer zones and later after picking can be initiated automatic relocation instruction or can be initiated wave instructuon (as a periodical job).
Storing Methods
Storage on shelves, in a stack and in a free loading area is considered – it is possible to use a different storage strategy for each.
Discrete Picking
The definition is similar to warehousing strategies. System allows the use of different strategies and their combination of FIFO, FEFO, the shortest picking time, the shortest way….
In reality stacking is very often used for capacity reasons, in this situation strict following FIFO is very difficult. SiStore WMS offers for these situations ie. tolerance FIFO.
Dynamic strategies
allow to continuously recalculate storage priorities according to the current situation. An example is warehousing according to the turnover of goods, picking time, loading time etc.
Mass picking and shipping
The operator is usually navigated where and which materials to pick and where to bring them. For example system navigate him directly to the sotrage bins (positions) and handling unit to be picked, repacked, etc. The system is continuously checking the picking with regard to applied picking strategy. In the end, there is an overall inspection of delivery content and according to the inspection settings tolarate or not any differences.
As next step can be loading scannig required.
Customer labels cross-scanning
If cross-scan function is active system requires cross scanning (= pairing of warehouse and customer shipping labels) before picking close or loading. Many details of this fuctiona are available in system settings.
All history or traceability are easy visible in standard reports.
Inventory counting
it will be possible to perform:
- Blocking – storage location, selected materials etc.
- Non-blocking – selected bins, using label info, mass based on sound feedback
Inventories following all audit standards.
Sound navigation
Sound of all transactions performed with terminals is used with great success. Thanks to the audio feedback, the operator does not have to watch the display after each transaction – the result of the transaction (ok, error, warning, etc.) is informed by the corresponding sound of the terminal. Next option is voice navigation – operator is hearing all navigation instruction.
Label printing
It is possible to use off-line or on-line printing. Except of standard printing on thermotrasfer printers is alternativelly possible print on standard laser printers with lower costs. Special customer formats or standard VDA, GTL (master label, master mixed labels, single labels), GALIA label formats are supported in parallel.
Packing rules
Depending on the process, it is possible to define production or shipping packaging rules that are used for printing, packing and automatic movements with packaging.
Quality functions within WMS module
Quality storage loactions are used for defect products, their selection and reworks, especially handling units (pallets, KLT…).
Function blocking (or approving) products, materials, batches or handling units (pallets, KLT…) with a suspected defect.
SiStore WMS offers single-stage and multi-stage blocking, ie. blocking for multiple reasons at once.
Batch and traceability
SiStore allows tracing of production and warehousing till to vendor’s deliveries or batches. Identification depending on the used processing type.
